Product Information and Support Session Performance Scores Session Response Sounds Session Performance Tips Understanding Your Session Performance Score Every Session in your RevitalVision Program is tailored to continually challenge your visual limitations. Using a special proprietary algorithm, the RevitalVision software generates each Session for you based upon your beginning visual abilities, and then upon the outcome of each previously-completed Session.
As such, this progression in the difficulty of your Sessions will be unique to you and, likewise, the scoring of each Session will also be unique to you. Each Session Performance Score you receive is a measure of how you performed against the level of difficulty presented during the Visual Performance Tasks. How Your RevitalVision Program Works Every Session you perform is designed to achieve an important goal – to challenge your eyes and brain to see the faintest images possible. The “faintness” of these images is called a contrast level.
The process of completing your prescribed RevitalVision Program can be likened to walking down a flight of stairs. Imagine that each step in these stairs represents a level of visual ability.
As such, the “top step” for you may not be the same for others. During each Session, once the RevitalVision software confirms that you can see an image, the contrast level is slightly lowered – thereby taking you down another step. This continues until you can no longer see the image, at which point the RevitalVision software takes you up a step. Once the RevitalVision software determines where your “bottom step” limit occurs, it will continue to work your eyes and brain at this level – adjusting contrast levels even more slightly. This is where the improvement in your eyesight takes place. It is working with you to overcome this limit. As such, the next Session you perform may not begin at your previous “top step” and may not end with your previous “bottom step.” Because each Session is tailored to your individual progress, it will naturally continue to work with you at a pace appropriate to your level of improvement.
Where Your Score Comes From After you complete a Session, you will see an overall score for that Session. Because your RevitalVision Program is individualized to meet your needs, so is the score you receive. In general terms, this score measures your ability reach and consistently maintain Visual Performance Tasks around the “bottom step” of your Session. The RevitalVision software considers two types of incorrect responses that you give during your Session – those made around the “bottom step” and those that were made at “higher steps.” Errors made around your “bottom step” are normal – this is how the RevitalVision software knows you have reached a visual limit. As such, they are not counted heavily against your overall score. Other errors are considered on the basis of whether they occur consecutively.
It is very important to note that your score does not depend on the number of mistakes that may have been made, but rather the consistency with which they occur. Although the highest Session score possible is 100, achieving such a score is not likely and should not be expected. Key Things To Remember As you consider your overall Session Performance Score, please keep these things in mind:. Do not be worried about making mistakes.
During your Sessions, it is expected – and anticipated – that you will make incorrect choices. This is how the RevitalVision software learns to accommodate your needs.
Contrast levels will adjust automatically. If you happen to make a mistake at a higher contrast level, do not be concerned. As you make subsequent correct selections, your image contrast levels will go down again.
Scores will differ for each Session. If you receive a lower overall score than you did for a previously-completed Session, again, do not be concerned. Each Session is different and attempts to challenge you harder. Scores can mean more than visual performance. A lower score could mean that you are tired or unable to concentrate. Use your scores to help you assess what factors may be contributing to your level of effort. It’s not about the score.
Completing your RevitalVision Program isn’t about getting the highest score, but rather about your own personal vision improvement. Scores are provided to guide and inform you. They are not an indicator of success or failure. About the Sounds You Hear During Your Session Each Session of your prescribed RevitalVision Program is divided into a serious of Units. Within each Unit, you will perform a number of Visual Performance Tasks. The RevitalVision software provides feedback – in the form of short sounds – to help you understand how you are progressing. Note that if you respond correctly to a given Visual Performance Task, no sound will be played.
Indication of a Single Incorrect Response In the event you respond incorrectly to a single Visual Performance Task, you will hear the following sound. Indication of Multiple Incorrect Responses In the event that you make three consecutive incorrect responses, you will hear the following sound. Indication of the End of a Unit Once all of the Visual Performance Tasks for a single Unit have been completed, you will hear the following sound. Tips for Maintaining a Positive Session Performance Trend Before you begin each Session of your prescribed RevitalVision Program, there are several things you can do to ensure the best possible outcome and a continually improving condition. RevitalVision has compiled the following recommendations to help facilitate your progress, and provide a positive and beneficial experience.
Establish a Proper Environment Consider the environmental conditions in which you perform your exercises:. Use a Darkened Room. Make sure the room you are in is as dark as possible – preferably, completely dark. It is important to avoid the presence of any extra ambient light, which may distort what you see on your computer screen and affect the intended outcome of a given Visual Performance Task. Check Your Computer Monitor Position. Your computer’s monitor should be raised or lowered such that the center of the display screen is at eye-level.
Further, the tilt of your display screen should be completely vertical. This is especially important for flat-panel monitors, in which an exaggerated tilt can distort the appearance of images on the display screen.
Check Your Distance from the Computer Monitor. The viewing distance between your eyes and the display screen should be 5 feet (or 1.5 meters). The Visual Performance Tasks have been designed to be most effective at this distance, and it is important to consistently maintain the same separation distance.
It may be helpful to place a piece of tape on the floor to ensure you keep the same distance each time you perform a Session. Place Your Mouse in a Comfortable Position. Before you begin your Session, make sure that your mouse is placed on your lap, or in such a way that it remains steady.
Try not to look down at the mouse to click its buttons, and keep your focus on the computer screen. Finding a comfortable and stable position for the mouse will minimize distractions to you during the Session. Follow Prescribed Eyewear Instructions. Depending on your circumstances, you may be instructed to perform a Session with, or without, your eyeglasses or contact lenses. In some cases, you may be given a pair of special training glasses to use during the Session. Training glasses are provided to you by RevitalVision, as needed, and are included in the software product package. Eliminate Noises and Distractions.
Your Sessions work best when you can give them your complete focus and attention. Shut off any telephones, televisions, or other sources of distractive noise during a Session. You may, however, use background music or soundscapes – such as nature themes – as long as these sources do not draw attention away from your Session and allow you to hear the feedback sounds provided by the RevitalVision software. Be Well-Rested and Relaxed Consider how you are feeling and be mindful of your schedule:. Avoid Sessions when Fatigued. It is important for you to perform each Session feeling as refreshed and awake as possible.
Physical fatigue, as well as mental fatigue, can impact your performance. Assess your condition before starting a Session. Maintain a Consistent Schedule. RevitalVision recommends that you perform each Session at approximately the same time of day.
The starting time variance between Sessions should not exceed 4 hours. This increases the probability of maximum visual function improvement.
Maintain a Minimum Weekly Regimen. The recommended regimen for completing your RevitalVision Program is to perform one Session every other day. If this is not possible, at least ensure that you are completing 3 Sessions per week once you begin. You may perform a Session every day, but there should be at least 24 hours between Sessions. Consider Your Frame of Mind. Try to clear your mind of stress and worries, and be as relaxed as possible.
Remind yourself that you are making an investment of your time in improving your visual function. Maintaining a healthy attitude about completing your RevitalVision Program can also help your concentration level during the exercises. Avoid Sessions while Impaired. If you are taking any medications that can make you drowsy, or possibly blur your vision, try to perform your Sessions when these impairments are as minimal as possible. Mental clarity and sharpness is important.
Understand the Expectations Keep in mind these realistic expectations for yourself:. You Will Make Mistakes. As you are responding to the Visual Performance Tasks, it is completely normal to make an incorrect choice.
The RevitalVision software will eventually present you with an exercise that is beyond your visual ability. Making a mistake allows the software to know where your limits are, and adjust the exercises accordingly.
Your Program is Unique to You. Although many patients may be prescribed the same RevitalVision Program as you, remember that RevitalVision’s proprietary algorithms generate your Sessions based upon your unique visual ability. The level of difficulty you encounter, as well as the rate at which you progress, will also be unique to you. Guessing is OK. You may encounter a particular exercise in which you cannot determine which Frame contained the Gabor Patch. Trust your instincts, and guess if needed.
Remember that the RevitalVision software has the intelligence to analyze your responses and react appropriately. Do not give up, just do your best and keep going. Don’t Worry about Single Session Outcomes. It is important to realize that a lack of improvement for a single Unit or Session does not mean that you are doing poorly. Remember that several factors can influence your performance, and that your RevitalVision Program is designed to increase in difficulty as you progress. The scores and reports you receive are provided to guide and inform you, and are not an indicator of success or failure. You have a Personal Vision Specialist.
You are encouraged to contact your Personal Vision Specialist if you have any questions or concerns. They continually monitor your progress, and are trained to help you identify and resolve problem areas that may occur from time to time. Remember the End Goal. Completing your RevitalVision Program isn’t about getting the highest score or a race to the finish line.
The real objective is to achieve the highest level of personal vision improvement possible. You are enhancing your brain’s ability to perceive what your eyes are seeing, and that’s what makes it all worthwhile. RevitalVision, LLC ● 1617 St.
